Fire sprinkler systems silently protect millions of Americans on a daily basis. When fire sprinklers are installed, the causality rate during a fire decreases by a whopping 81%. These essential yet complex fire sprinkler systems are designed and installed by highly qualified technicians with thousands of hours of certified training.
Superior Tank had the honor of manufacturing and installing a factory powder coated bolted steel tank as part of a unique training center located in Whittier, CA. The center is operated by Sprinkler Fitters U.A. Local 709, which is one of three Sprinkler Fitters Local Associations located in California. The goal of the Sprinkler Fitters Association of California is the education of properly installing fire sprinklers in structures, promotion of fire sprinkler training, and encourage the use of qualified sprinkler fitters to install fire extinguishing life safety systems. All three Local Associations have comprehensive sprinkler fitter apprenticeship training programs that extend over a 5-year period and include both academic and on-the-job training. Only after completion of this training program can the sprinkler fitter install fire sprinkler systems without supervision. In support of this mission, the Sprinkler Fitters U.A. Local 709 training center provides hands-on training through various types of workshops for fire contractor apprentices, which are led by inspectors from local fire departments.

- Workshop for training fabrication of Fire Sprinkler Piping & Assembly
- 130-person Central Meeting Room along w/ numerous smaller classrooms
- 13,400-gallon Water Storage Tank
- Underground Cistern for Recycled Water Storage
