Have always used Superior and don’t know any water supply company that doesn’t use Superior.

Superior was one of my better decisions

I can tell you that I was extremely happy with the professionalism of the entire process from design to install. Superior was one of my better decisions while running Saltwater Disposal of North Dakota

David K.

A Historic Moment

“Today  water began flowing to our customers. A bit of clean-up, replace the Brown’s gate, and we will be finished. One bit of history I remember tells me that this is the first project of this magnitude since the Empire State Building to finish ahead of schedule and (slightly) below budget. Thank you for your support.”

Superior Customer Service

“Superior Tank took care of us in our time of need and had the best price around. Mr. Huel took very good care of us from start to finish as did the crew putting the tank up. Superior Tank was also recommended to us by a neighboring water company who was very pleased with their work as well.  Thank you Superior Tank .”

The quality of the build was excellent

“The tank you built for us in 2002, has absolutely no wear on the Powder Coating or any other feature of the tank. The quality of the build was excellent, we automatically go to Superior for our tank needs as it is a known quantity.”

R.A.S.S. Fire Protection Storage Tanks

REMOTE ACTIVATED SNORKEL SITE

Superior Tank Company Inc is proud to work with Whaling Fire Fighting Equipment on an innovative new water storage tank for fire protection. The R.A.S.S. (Remote Activated Snorkel Site) is expected to significantly decrease the travel time helicopters need to fly in order to get water to put out wildfires. Instead of having to fly 15 to 30 minutes for refilling, the helicopter may only have to fly 5 minutes or less. As the helicopter pilot controls water flow to the tank via a remote-controlled float valve, ground access to the water source is not needed and response time to drop the water on fires is dramatically decreased. In today’s firefighting environment, seconds matter and saving time where possible can have a significant impact on saving lives and property.

OCFA, Anaheim FD test new technology to fight fires in remote areas

“The R.A.S.S.” is similar to other bolted steel tanks that Superior Tank routinely manufactures for the fire protection industry. The main difference between RASS and the other steel storage tanks is that the R.A.S.S. is an open-top dip tank that allows for easy reloading of helicopters using the snorkels and buckets systems. The R.A.S.S. uses radio control electronics to activate a valve to fill the water tank in under 60 seconds directly from the firefighting helicopter. Another valve is also used to automatically empty the tank when no longer needed. By placing these smaller water tanks on hilltops, the R.A.S.S. will act as a fire hydrant for firefighting helicopters. Using a R.A.S.S. to support aerial firefighting operations is also expected to free up fire engines and personnel that would normally be used to fill helicopter directly. The fire engine and crew could then be used to protect homes and other structures.

Anaheim Fire Officials Testing Equipment That Could Improve Response to Remote Areas

For water conservation, the R.A.S.S. tank is designed to only fill with water when needed for firefighting operations. R.A.S.S. Is Constructed of high strength carbon steel to withstand many seasons of use and features a durable powder coating or hot dipped galvanized to resist corrosion. The bolt together construction allows for extremely fast assembly and the steel tank can be placed directly on, or above, grade. R.A.S.S. is also unique as it does not require an inner liner which is vulnerable to damage from the snorkel, bucket or other natural elements.
