Superior Tank Solutions, Inc. is a full-service general contractor who is dedicated to the water distribution and steel storage tank industry.  Superior Tank Solutions is a leader in new steel tank fabrication and erection, as well as the rehabilitation and maintenance of existing infrastructure. Utilizing cutting edge technologies and offering unique services Superior Tank Solutions is a rapidly growing and expanding company.

Superior Tank Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a Field Sales Account Manager who will be responsible for leading sales and managing account activities throughout the designated territory by selling products and services related to water storage tanks.  This will include new bolted and welded steel tanks, rehabilitation and coating services, tank assessments and long-term sustainable asset management solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • Travel throughout assigned territory while developing relationships with strategic targets: water systems, Cities, contractors and engineers.  The key will be relationship building within these arenas to facilitate ongoing sales 
  • Perform storage tank inspections and provide written reports
  • Utilize Salesforce to track existing and new sales opportunities
  • Perform project management following the sale of storage tank services
  • Attend trade shows

Skills / Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4-year degree or post school technical training preferred
  • 1-3 + years successful sales experience in the Municipal, Water Distribution, Industrial Sales, or Engineering & Construction industries
  • Intermediate computer experience with particular proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • High level of outgoing interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to make cold calls, perform on-site inspections, prepare proposals, and close new business
  • Customer oriented sales approach with strong relationship management skills
  • Strong competitive drive with consistent track record of high achievement
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Industrial surface preparation and coating application experience preferred
  • Experience as a coating inspector (NACE) or applicator is a plus
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Exposure or expertise with design-build water infrastructure projects, engineering and construction, capital improvements, and/or long-term maintenance contracts preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Northern California, United States

Work Environment:

This is a remote position; candidate will work from home. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines and a vehicle. This job requires frequent visits to job sites that are located outdoors, thereby being exposed to various weather conditions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, overtime exempt, position. Days and hours of work vary.

Compensation Package: 

Superior Tank Solutions, Inc. offers an attractive base salary and lucrative uncapped sales commissions.  Company benefits include a medical, dental, vision, 401K, LTD insurance, sick time and vacation time.


Travel is required for this position. Company vehicle will be provided and candidate will have to meet our insurance requirements.

Superior Tank Solutions, Inc. (STS) is a full-service general contractor dedicated to providing comprehensive service to the water storage tank industry.  Incorporated in 2009, Superior Tank Solutions provides tank services across the western United States including: new bolted and welded steel tanks, interior and exterior coating rehabilitation, upgrades and repairs, inspections, cleanings, asset management programs, water quality management, and general construction services for water infrastructure.

Superior Tank Solutions is seeking a Project Superintendent with industrial coating and water infrastructure experience.  The superintendent will be responsible for facilitating customer relations and the successful completion of projects in their assigned region. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate strong field project management skills with detailed project plans and ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects at once.
  • Travel out of town for one to several nights at a time. 
  • Meet with customers to perform site visits and gather pertinent information on perspective projects.
  • Attend job walks and pre-bid meetings.
  • Regularly climb water tanks from 8’ to 200’ in elevation, enter confined spaces and climb scaffolding.
  • Order, coordinate, and manage project materials.
  • Perform minor hands-on tasks to facilitate project completion.
  • Manage and inspect subcontractors in the field.
  • Observe details of work performed by subcontractors, document results, and obtain photographic documentation of work product.
  • Responsible for managing and assisting the field crews in the performance of daily tasks.
  • Prepare written inspection reports in accordance with STS standards.
  • Responsible for compliance with all QC requirements which include those stated in the contract, drawings, and specifications.
  • Review and download field data into laptop computer and transfer to company server in accordance with STS standards.
  • Prepare detailed daily job reports and discuss projects with supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that all STS and customer specifications, guidelines, and programs are being followed and documented as required. Communicate with the customer onsite and manage positive customer relations.
  • Ensure that all employees are working in a safe manner and environment. Ensure all requirements are followed from the STS safety documents, site specific requirements, and customer specific requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of industrial coatings, techniques and procedures.
  • High school diploma or similar
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience and product knowledge in industrial coatings, abrasive blasting, welding or similar field.
  • Proficient with MS-Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Teams, etc.,)
  • Driver’s License, position involves frequent travel within territory
  • Ability to interpret and receive instructions on specific assignment, objectives, and complex features on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, climb and walk continuously during an 8+-hour period.


  • NACE Certification Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Certified 
  • OSHA Construction Safety Training Preferred
  • Steel tank or water industry experience
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Proficient in MS Projects
  • Use of a customer relationship management (CRM) system like Salesforce or similar
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
